I can fly both, and personally I'd go with the Slep for 1v1 and the abso in gang. Unless of course they actually do start within web range of eachother, and the the Sleipnir hasnt got a hope in hell cos it won't actually have a webber fitted. Of course the fact that against an Absolution with a typical dual-eanmII fit Barrage does basically **** all damage, then factor in further dps loss due to falloff range and the Abso will be coming out on top in the "Real" damage stakes but like I said, the superioir speed of the Sleipnir should make it all but impossible for the Abso to win this fight. If the Sleipnir pilot gets so much as an inkling that it's not going his way he'll put pedal to the metal and do his best to scarper. In a more likely encounter where the 2 ships both running balanced solo setups happen across each other and start dukeing it out it could only realistically end up in a win for the Sleipnir or more likely a draw.Įven post speed nerf the Sleip is still the fastest and most agile CS, and it's going to use that to stay out of web range and attack the Absolution with Barrage (and considering the Abso will be plated and armor rigged there is no way it's going to lock the Slepinir down). In a "1v1" fight were both ships were setup specifically to defeat the other then neither would break the others tank, period. I can fly both ships with reasonable to high skills.

In every 1v1 sleip vs abso I have been in on sisi, the abso wins. In 1v1 active is better then buffer in gang buffer is better.Ĭaptator Universal Securities Pirate Coalition I know people who use resist rigs, freeing up mids for web and scram this works ok with Large SB setups but If you use an XL you really need to use safeguard rigs or the cap booster won't be about to keep up.Ībso has the advantage in you can buffer tank it to an insane amount with plates while still having room for disruptor. I fly Sleipnir in gangs quite often and it's a nice ship but it really needs an extra mid (same layout as claymore would be good) as trying to fit a cap booster and MWD leaves you with a 3 slot tank, only 2 slot if you need to fit disruptor. With the right ammo you'd be tearing through the abso. You could tank easily 12 or 1300 dps (using the 4 slot shield tank) as long as you had cap boosters (even better tank with a crystal set).įitting the shield tank also has the advantages of freeing up your low for max gank (4 gyro and a damage control or similar). Also in 1 v1 you don't need mwd fitted which makes the shield tank even better as you can whack on a boost amp as well as 2 hardners. In a 1v1 vs a laser boat like abso the t2 resists (on shield) of the sleip would be win. Minmatar Fleet of the Damned Dark Trinity Alliance Sleipnir - armor tank, EM + thermal hardeners, cap stable tank, neuts + guns w/EMP loaded.
